the word ‘slide’ meant fun,
an adrenaline rush.
Now they are just the next bit
to which you should pay attention.
No one ever asks
to slide again
in presentations.

Dawn lives in a quaint village in Colchester, Essex, with her partner. She began writing in her teens as a way to express the frustrations of adolescence and the writing stuck even after the angst left. She has been published in a variety of magazines, and has had poems displayed in exhibitions across the UK as well as being featured on BBC Essex radio. She occasionally likes to perform but is more likely to be found under blankets at home reading. Dawn is currently working on a novel and her second collection of poems.
